Prayer

The lords prayer is one most seem to know; if not from church as I first learned it through sports. In the locker room pre-game football season as a freshman was the first time I was encouraged to remember the words to this prayer. As it echo’s in my head, “Our Father who are in heaven….etc.” I never really thought prayer was all that important. All my life I knew there was a God, I knew he was a powerful force that I had reason to fear. As a new Christian I always thought that standard prayer was plenty for the time. Meaning from meal to meal pray over your food and that’s it. Oh and don’t let me forget the nightly thing we do some every night others from time to time. Right there at bed side Baptist on our knees praying. In my Christian growth I have found more of a meaning of what prayer is and when it’s appropriate to do so. Let me explain….

Most pray during trials and tribulations of their life, they think not to pray during the good times. We yell out for our savior Jesus Christ or beg for God to save us when trouble and sickness come our way. Our relationship with Christ should not just consist of troublesome times. Romans 12:12 tell us, “Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation; be constant in prayer.” This simply means a few simple things. One God does answer our prayers in his time not ours. So you may be praying for something and upset that you are not getting the response you were looking for in a timely fashion. The part I wanted you all to catch was the end, be constant in prayer. This means have a constant running conversation with God daily. No, you’re not crazy for speaking to God all day long, and if that is what will give you salvation so be it let people of fleshly understanding say your crazy. It’s definetly good to spend that quit time alone as well in prayer but don’t limit your relationship with God and prayer to just quit time. Have daily prayer all day long and speak to him often during the day.
So go I tell you and make your prayers heard stegnthen your relationship with the lord and lets together attempt to become better Christians. For it is written ask and then believe and you shall receive. I pray that my prayers are not redundant, I pray that I have encouraged not only myself but all that read this become conscious of our efforts to have a striving relationship full of all day prayer and not momentary prayers that are constant and cute repetitive prayers. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that we all are strengthened daily to walk the path he has chosen, to be the men and women of God he has called us each to be. I pray that we do not see color I pray we have become fleshly blind and can only see spirit to build the nations God has called for us to build. I pray we all are touched by the Holy Ghost to perform the works of God. I pray each and every one of us are able to walk away from this writing changed and encouraged men and women of God who are ready to testify to our family, friends, and co-workers as the way this has changed our mind state. I pray these words in Jesus Christ Name Amen.
