Spirit or Color You Make The Choice
The great land of the free, the melting pot, the home of the brave, and last but not least we are really any of the above. This country was found on Christian principles in which many of us are not brave enough to protect and stand for. We call ourselves a melting pot and yet we are so caught up in each individual’s race we can’t even build the nations God has called us to build. We are not free men and women, we are enslaved by the enemies plan to capture our vision. We look at each other and the first thing that comes to our attention is the fleshly color God has chosen us to be, or the ethnicity that we so love. We forget that we all hold the same spirit and that we all have the same father and savior. Past skin color and ethnicity which really only consist of our cultural habits we are all built the same. Two legs, two arms, one mouth, one nose, two eyes, two ears, one heart, two lungs, etc. I’m sure you all get the point. So lets take a step forward and ask ourselves a few simple questions. Why is it we are so unacceptable of interracial relationships. We fear people of a different culture or race. Could this problem stem from the fear of the unknown? As a whole we need to learn to embrace the spirit and look past the flesh we see. Is it color that we fear or is it guidelines we have placed on people who we really don’t know? Are we going to continue to allow for stereotypes to plague our lives and shape our views on people we have never given a chance? Melting pot, yeah we are a melting pot as far as living all in the same general area but even then I can argue our prideful ways. You go to many major cities and its segregated. Sections of the town called China Town, Greek Town, Old Italy, etc. Then to break it down further there is sections that are mostly black others mostly Latino and yet still others that are Caucasian.
Our cities are so segregated along with the churches of this country and yet we say this country was built on Christian values. Yet instead of following Gods word of building the nations we are stuck on color and ethnicity. Lets all take a stand for the future and teach our children to not see race, culture, ethnicity, or anything that is not of the spirit. Lets teach our children to make choices by the spirit. For those of us that are molded in our ways there is still hope. I myself still struggle with this and have come a long way over the past 2 years. Attempt to not look at what you see but judge them by the content of their character and not by the vision the enemy place before our eyes and the hatred he places in our hearts for what we see. God’s number one greatest commandment is to love everyone. He did not put any limitations on that and say love your race or your culture he said love everyone. CAN WE ALL LOVE?
